Realised that I've been neglecting this space for yet another lengthy period of time, but do bear with me! 2012 has been a busy year for many of us, and I've been occupied with finishing up school, attending events, and evading apocalypses ( ˙▿˙ )
Most of the photos in this update comes from my Instagram! Being the lazy slug I am and paired with the convenience of our social networking apps, I've been more active over there than with writing here, so do follow me on Instagram (@ravenings)!
So, the end of 2012 in a nutshell! _(┐「ε:)_♡*+:•*∴”:♡.•♬✧
Revisited Natsu Matsuri, this time with my own yukata!
Had loads of fun at Seiransai, an annual event hosted by the Waseda Shibuya High School!
This is my second time attending the event, and I still enjoyed myself.
The experience is a lot like what I'd imagine Japanese school festivals to be like,
with each class setting up their own activities and booths.
The theme this year was "Time-warp", and one of the places we visited was the Nostalgia Cafe,
where I met a noseless Totoro and a super moe meido!
Travelled to Hong Kong this year, but perhaps due to the lack of planning of my itinerary it was a rather bad vacation.
Nonetheless, it was good to be out of the country once in awhile!
Though I don't indulge in gyaru fashion myself since I can't really pull it off, it's good to see
that the trend is finally getting attention in quiet ol' Singapore.
Shibuya Gals hosted a number of events to promote gyaru this year, and I attended the JCOSME event,
a mini gathering for all aspiring gyarus, in support of the adorable Kellykonomi.
To my surprise I was also picked as one of the ten best-dressed attendees,
all thanks to the lovely Wendy Ashley, who was even more petite and pretty in person!
November saw a busy month for many of us because AFA is back in Singapore,
along with my darling meidos and butlers in Moe Moe Kyun and Atelier Royale.
I will be writing more about this later, but I'd just like to say here that
I'm very happy to have met all senpai-tachi who came to give us your support this year!
I got hooked on League of Legends early this year, and Garena,
the host company of LoL, granted us joy in the form of Garena Stadium.
To celebrate the launch we had the Garena Carnival, where many like-minded
gamers showed up to check out what's new in-store.
While I have my own reservations about how the event was handled, it was a lot of fun seeing
League of Legend enthusiasts in their full cosplay glory (Blizcrank! Tryndamere! Sona!)
and watching a game played live by our local competitive team Singapore Sentinels.
Gyarus of Singapore went crazy in December when it was announced that gyaru goddess, Tsubasa
Masuwaka, would be gracing us with her presence at the Shibuya Gals x Dollywink lookalike contest.
I was invited to blog about the event, so I'll leave you guys with this short update for now!
Last but not least, I also went to Comic Fiesta with my friends!
Unfortunately I could not finish my initial cosplans in time and a lot of things did not go as expected,
but I was still glad for the experience as well as to meet all the talented artists in the doujin section of CF!
And that brings us to the end of 2012! I look forward to more new experiences for me to uncover in 2013 ⍩⃝
Ohai ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ I decided to revive my blog! ..Well, for now at least.
Looking back at my old posts, it has nearly been a year since I've been with Moe Moe Kyun, but I've already been a part of 3 events up to now! Time passes very quickly, doesn't it?
And with all the events, I meet amazing people all the time~
Let's start from the beginning, shall we?
Memorable keepsake; of the first event that allowed me to grow so much.
However, it didn't stop there!
In June, AFA went overseas~
To our neighbouring country, Malaysia!
Attending the press conference for the first time.

Yes, I met Kaname-san!
Although there was a language barrier, he was really friendly and nice!
The event was my first time traveling overseas without family, but I was really well taken care of.
Thank you so much!
And on the event itself, we actually met.. wait for it...
SPCATS MIYUKO & TASHA!
I'm a HUGE, HUGEEEE fan of SpiralCats, so never in my life would I have ever dreamt of meeting the gorgeous cosplayers from Korea. But because of Moe Moe Kyun, I did!
And even got their coscards! Oh you jelly jelly~
Not to mention Miyuko and Tasha were really lovely and sweet!
Despite how famous they are, they put on no airs at all!
I'm even more of a fan now ヽ(愛´∀`愛)ノ
Group photo! Sir Jim got the neko ears for us, so we were Neko Moe Moe Kyun for Day 2 :3
(Left to Right: Ringo, Rina, Kiyomi, Yunie, Tora, Yuna, Mio!)
(Left: Our Moe Moe Kyun blackboard! Decorated by your very own meidos this time, because we have three talented artists on the team!
Right: Meidos and their 2D selves. Our dear megane Ringo did the illustrations, I'm still in love with it!)
(Left: With the tall and pretty Mio-nyan~ Can't not love her!
Right: Cheki with Yunie, the true tsundere loli, and Mio-nyan~ Ringo was busy so I couldn't take one with her ;A;)
Now, the timeline is returning to the present.. AFAID!
After the success in Malaysia, AFA brings the event to Indonesia!
Our butlers and maids to greet all the goshujinsama and ojousama at Indonesia..
My dear girls - Ringo, myself, Momo, Kiyo, Yuna, Mio!
The cool and the handsome - Ryo, Ren, Kenta, Shin, Takuya, Haru!
Momo-chan is our fresh face for the meidos - and she's a really moe person!
As proven by her immense popularity in Indonesia (●´∀`)ノ♡
Danny Choo! I was rather shy when we talked to him, sadly ;A;
Having read CultureJapan for so long, it's surreal to actually speak to the man behind the blog.
Lastly..
Three crew badges, for three events.
It has really been a phenomenal journey for me so far.
At the beginning, I was still a quiet and shy introvert who didn't like drawing attention to myself.
With Moe Moe Kyun, I found a self who had room to explore.
Of course, I'm still shy, I still don't find it very easy to talk to people (*ノωノ)
But working with everyone, serving all the goshujinsama and ojousama, has allowed me to take a very large step in growing beyond the shell I allowed myself to live in.
I met many amazing people - not just the celebrities, but also my fellow meidos and butlers, the crew behind it all.. people who are all fantastic in their own ways, that I've grown to respect for their determination, their energy, their passion.
I think what makes AFA so great is how for most of us, it's more than just an event or a job, it's something we all enjoy, and for many, a dream to work hard for.
At the end of the day, when you're tired and your voice is hoarse, that really makes all the difference.
November 2012, Moe Moe Kyun meidos, along with the rest of the greatness that is AFA, will be shedding our old uniforms for something new, something better.
Are you ready? I know I'm looking forward to it! (^_−)☆
Sometimes I get to a point where little problems seem too big for me.
And then I let them unravel like a line in the ocean sinking down into the density.
And when the pressure becomes the the same amount as what's inside of me.
Well I can sink and explode or hold my breath until I float,
I gamble on my own biology.
The barnacles on the ladder bleed my feet while they set a good example in tenacity.
And If you want to quit, you should quit like a winner.
Cut your losses and extricate yourself from the bidding.
And tell your friends that you could've if you'd wanted to,
And tell yourself that it's strong to make a hard call.
And if you wanna try you should try like a loser,
Who keeps on betting their life on a slow horse,
And every year well she gets a little more tired,
You're still betting, cheering her on.
Happy Halloween!
I was lucky enough to be able to celebrate Halloween this year.
It's one of my favourite occasions (me being my morbid self and all),
but I never quite had a chance to celebrate it since Singapore doesn't really have that tradition.
This year, I actually got to go visit Sentosa's Spooktacular, where they had an Asian Horror themed haunted house(s) event.
Thank you to the delicious pork cheek Yish! (꒪ω꒪υ)
My new AT headphones, also thanks to Yishhh.
I surmise he was being annoying as usual.
..My eyes : his = 2 : 1. No kidding.
Photos from the event itself!
We weren't allowed to take photos within each trail, but there are always 'ambience ghosts' whom I've taken to call the walkers that loiter around screaming at passerbys but always happy to camwhore with you.
Ippen, shinde miru? Also my hair was crap because of the heat.
Overall I'd say the event was okay, I freaked out at a couple of the trails pretty badly, but ended up trolling the rest of the ghosts. I really have to give a big thumbs-up to the students (I presume?) who were working as the ghosts and helpers though, you could tell they were trying their best and very enthusiastic in what they were doing too.
Minna-san, have you guys heard about the Moe Moe Kyun Maid Cafe and Atelier Royal Butler Cafe?
They are part of the highlights of the huge annual event Anime Festival Asia, and I'm very honoured to be part of this wonderful family this year!
This year, Moe Moe Kyun is back with many new faces and reverting to the original theme of maid cafe, so as to best bring out the form of "Moe"! Please do support us and like the Moe Moe Kyun fanpage! ♡
The famous blogger Danny Choo (whom I'm a reader of!) has also done a feature on Moe Moe Kyun, and you can check the AFA event page as well for more details!
Now, here are all the meidos! The pictures are all clickable!

They are back this year with a Wonderland theme!
The different characters are really intriguing, don't you think?
